Julie Koidin, Founder, Director & Flutist

Julie Koidin is a classically trained flutist who has her master’s and doctoral degrees in flute performance from Northwestern University. She is a 7-time Fulbright fellow, teaching US Repertoire for flute in Brazil (2002, 2014-2015); Norway (2005); New Zealand (2006); Serbia (2008); Sweden (2011); and Ecuador (2016).

As Director of A Touch of Class Ensembles she performs with other classical and jazz musicians of the highest caliber in the Chicago area. String musicians (violin, viola, cello and bass) play with the major orchestras in the Chicago area, including Lyric Opera and Chicago Sinfonietta.

The guitarists and pianists with whom she performs are excellent performers in both “classical” and “jazz” styles, some in Brazilian music as this genre is a speciality of Dr. Koidin.

Dr. Koidin consults with all interested clients to determine the best match of instrumentation for your event. Not only the type of instruments and/or vocalists, but the quantity, as this is often a consideration as well. For more information on Julie Koidin, please see full bio at this link.
